Otto GENO FLU VAC

Avian Influenza commonly known as “Avian Flu” is a viral problem caused by Orthomyxovirus. It is characterized by sneezing, coughing, gasping, lacrimal and nasal discharge. The prominent postmortem lesions are petechial hemorrhages in trachea, mucus filled naries, swelling of infraorbital sinuses up to neck, focal hemorrhages on shanks and un-feathered skin, purple discoloration of combs, wattles and hocks. Influenza in birds is caused by three genera of avian influenza viruses A, B and C but Influenza A viruses are known to naturally infect birds. It can cause 100% morbidity and mortality up to 100%. So far, Avian Influenza H5, H7 and H9 are serious threats for poultry. Whereas, Newcastle disease (ND) is caused by virulent strains of avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV-1). ND virus (NDV) has been shown to be able to infect over 200 species of birds which is characterized by lacrimal secretions, nasal discharge and greenish droppings.
